Sony has finally revealed the price and release date for the PlayStation 5, and even allowed pre-orders to commence. How are fans reacting to the PS5 pricing? On the whole, gamers’ reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, and for good reason too. The pricing that Sony set for the PlayStation 5 is very reasonable.

How much will a PlayStation 5 cost? You can pre-order the full version for $499.99, or the digital-only version for $399.99. Both versions of the console will release on November 12th. Retailers started taking pre-orders yesterday, which was actually early, and last we checked, supplies are sold out.
Some gamers feared that the price of the PS5 would be outrageous, as many felt the price of the PS3 was. For reference, the PS3 launched for $600. Adjusted for inflation, today, that would be even more. So, it is pretty amazing that two generations later, we can get the full PS5 for $100 less! And many gamers are surprised that the digital-only version is just $400.
Demand for the PS5 has been enhanced as a result of coronavirus. For that reason, Sony may struggle to meet demand even with increased production. Nevertheless, this is a time when many gamers are more strapped for cash than usual because of the economic fallout of the virus. So, it will come as a relief to many that they will not need to shell out more than $400 or $500 to dive into next-gen gaming.
