Sony Hosting PS5 Showcase Event on Wednesday

Eager to find out more about the PlayStation 5? Sony is going to be holding a PS5 Showcase event next Wednesday, the 16th of September. Let’s take a look at what you can expect from the event.

What to Know About the PS5 Showcase Event on Wednesday

Sony made the following tweet announcing the upcoming event:

The text says, “PlayStation 5 Showcase broadcasts live this Wednesday at 1pm Pacific Time: http://play.st/PS5Showcase.”

The video with the tweet simply shows off the console and the controller from multiple angles. But if you click on the link, it takes you to a blog that includes more details.

The post says, “Before PlayStation 5 launches this holiday, we wanted to give you one more look at some of the great games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!). Our next digital showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes, and feature updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners. Tune in live on Twitch or YouTube this Wednesday, September 16 at 1pm PDT / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST to see what’s next for PS5.”

So, the focus of the showcase will be on PS5 games rather than on the console itself. Nevertheless, we hope that Sony might provide answers to a few more lingering questions. For example, it would be nice if they would reveal a list of PS4 games the console will be backwards compatible with. Right now, all we have is the vague pronouncement that it will be an overwhelming majority of games.

Either way, Sony is running out of time to give gamers more answers about the PS5, so we can expect a lot of news in the weeks ahead. Check our PlayStation news section again soon for more updates on PS5 games and more.
