Sony Promises More PS5 Inventory by the End of the Year

If you have been trying to get your hands on a PlayStation 5, you probably have had zero luck. The initial stock was gone before most users even got alerts that the product was available. As to the Walmart restock, that didn’t last even a minute before every console was gone. Thankfully, Sony has promised that more PS5 inventory will be available before this year is over. Let’s check out what they had to say.

More PS5 Inventory is On the Way

Sony said, “We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year – please stay in touch with your local retailers.”

So, that is potentially exciting news—specifically the mention of “local retailers.” Depending on your location, you might have a better shot at purchasing a PlayStation 5 directly from a local store than you would trying to grab one online.

In the meantime, we suggest resisting the urge to purchase a heavily marked-up PS5 from a reseller. Why? First of all, if you just wait for a few weeks or months, you may be able to save hundreds of dollars getting a console at a fair price.

Secondly, if you purchase from such resellers, you encourage them to do what they do every time new consoles release, which is use bots to grab them fast so they can turn around and mark them up. If we don’t reward their behaviour, they lose their economic incentive to keep doing it.

In other news, some gamers who did successfully buy a PS5 are getting free avatar codes form Sony as a thank-you. You can follow our PlayStation news for more updates.
