Square Enix announced an Octopath Traveler PC release date this morning. The game will make its way to computers on June 7, 2019. Well, we’re pretty sure it is as Square Enix has since deleted the announcement post.

A quick search of Steam comes up with nothing regarding an Octopath Traveler PC release just yet. It is likely that someone at Square Enix pulled the plug on the announcement just a little bit too early. It could have been a scheduling error or they just simply didn’t know it was the wrong time. Regardless, this all but confirms the PC version of the beloved JRPG.

For those who don’t know, Octopath is an “HD-2D” game that uses a gorgeous mix of 2D with pop-up backgrounds. It is a stunning game that was received well by critics and audiences alike. There are eight main characters, each with their own individual storylines. You pick one character at the start and then can choose to continue their story or pick up the other members along the way or some mix of both.

The game currently sits at 83 on Metacritic, noting that it is without a doubt a “great” game. We will just have to wait and see when Square Enix will officially announce the Octopath Traveler PC release date. It will also be good to know what this version will come with like possibly 4K support. it will most likely release on Steam on June 7, 2019.
