Stephen Curry, Zion Williamson Get Boosts in NBA 2K21 Ratings Update

A brand new NBA 2K21 ratings update was unveiled as of Thursday just in time for the announcement of the All-Star starters. Leading the way for players getting a major boost was sharpshooter Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Joining him is one of the most exciting young players in the league, in Zion Williamson. A number of other stars saw their ratings rise, as the annual All-Star game approaches next month.

Stephen Curry, Zion Williamson move up in NBA 2K21 ratings update

After missing the majority of last season with an injury and recovery, Stephen Curry is back to doing Steph things. This current season, he’s averaging He’s currently second in the league with 30 points per game to go with six assists and 5.3 rebounds per contest.

He’s also making just over 42 percent of his three-point shots, for a Warriors team that looks to be back in the playoff hunt this season. In January, he passed Reggie Miller for No. 2 all-time in three-pointers made, leaving just Ray Allen ahead of him on the list.

Long story short, Steph was deserving of a boost in the NBA 2K21 ratings update. He has moved up one point to become a 96 overall, keeping him up there with stars like LeBron, Giannis, KD, and Kawhi.

In addition to Steph, Zion Williamson has moved closer to the 90 overall rating that he probably deserves. In his sophomore season, he’s 14 overall in scoring as he’s putting up 25 a game. He’s also grabbing 6.8 boards, dishing out 3.8 assists, and getting a steal per contest. In the ratings update, Zion goes up to an 88 overall.

Meanwhile, two other star players went up by two points each. Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul is now an 87 overall, while Hornets ROY frontrunner LaMelo Ball goes to an 83 OVR.

Below are some of the other players who received a boost in the update:

Zach LaVine: 88 OVR (+1)
Domantas Sabonis: 87 OVR (+1)
Julius Randle: 86 OVR (+1)
Immanuel Quickley: 79 OVR (+2)
Lonzo Ball: 79 OVR (+2)
Carmelo Anthony: 79 OVR (+2)

All-Star starters revealed including Steph, Luka, LeBron, and KD

Just as Stephen Curry’s NBA 2K21 ratings update arrived, so did another All-Star selection. On Thursday, Curry was revealed as a starter in the NBA All-Star West Pool of players. He joins Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Kawhi Leonard, and 17-time All-Star LeBron James. The Lakers star will serve as captain for one side of the annual game, which will be played for charity.

For the East starter pool, Steph’s former Warriors teammate Kevin Durant was the leading vote-getter and was named a captain. The Brooklyn Nets star is joined by his teammate Kyrie Irving, as well as two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Bradley Beal.

With LeBron and KD as the game’s captains they’ll draft from the available players to complete their rosters for the game. The game itself will take place on Sunday, March 7 on TNT beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

Most likely, some sort of promotion will arrive in NBA 2K21, as well as updated All-Star rosters to let gamers play out this year’s matchup between Team LeBron and Team KD.

The league and National Basketball Players Association will make sizable donations to several causes as part of this year’s All-Star Game. They’ll give over “$2.5 million to historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) as part of holding the event, as well as to support awareness around equity and access to COVID-19 care, relief and vaccines,” per ESPN’s report.
