NBA 2K21 Player Ratings Update: LaMelo Ball and Bradley Beal Surge As LeBron Drops

A new NBA 2K21 player ratings update was released to give boosts to deserving players while adjusting other players downward who are slumping. Amongst those on the rise are early Rookie of the Year favorite LaMelo Ball and last year’s All-Star snub, Bradley Beal. Meanwhile, King James saw a bit of a slump, although he’s still amongst the best in the game.

Ball and Beal move up in NBA 2K21 player ratings update

Since his longtime teammate John Wall is now in Houston, Bradley Beal is the clear star of the Washington Wizards. With 10 games in the books, Beal has averaged a league-leading 34.9 points per game along with 5.3 boards and five assists a contest. His team may not be a factor in the Eastern Conference, but Beal is clearly balling out. Beal moves up three points to get to a 91 OVR

Also in the East is young rookie LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets. Currently, Devonte’ Graham leads the team in assists with 6.4 per game, but Ball’s right behind him with 6.1 a contest. He’s also averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds a game. Could he be another triple-double machine in the making? Ball already broke the record for youngest player with a triple-double in NBA history. He now moves up to 81 overall with a three-point boost.

The 2K21 next-generation cover star Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans is also on the rise. He moves up one point to 87 overall based on a strong start to his sophomore season. After 12 games, Zion is leading the team with a 23.4 points-per-game average and is second in rebounds with eight boards per game. Will he continue his ascension towards an All-Star nod?

LeBron, Giannis OVRs dip a bit

As shown above, a few of the players who dipped in terms of their numbers are two of the game’s best. The Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James fell by just a point to become a 97 OVR. Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped a point down to a 96 OVR. The two-time MVP has become a bit of a question mark about how far he can carry this Milwaukee squad in the postseason.

A few other major stars also dropped down a bit in the NBA 2K21 player ratings update. According to a new 2K21 Courtside Report, James Harden is down one to 95 OVR and Anthony Davis dropped one to 94 OVR. Meanwhile, Denver’s Nikola Jokic (94 OVR) and Philly’s Joel Embiid (93 OVR) are each up by a point.

Other drops came for Trae Young, who is down two to 87 OVR, and Russell Westbrook, down a point to 86 OVR. However, the season is still young and there’s plenty of games left to make up for any of that. Harden is now part of a Big Three in Brooklyn that also includes former teammate and MVP Kevin Durant and NBA champion Kyrie Irving. Will his numbers continue to drop or will all three play well enough to stay up in terms of their OVRs?
