Swords May Be Coming to Battle Royale in Fortnite

If you like the Swords you can use in Fortnite Save the World mode, good news—Fortnite Swords may soon be available in Battle Royale mode. There have already been a few hints that this might be the case, but recent datamining has uncovered fresh evidence.

Here is the Evidence for Swords Coming to Battle Royale

@FortTory on Twitter posted the following:

The text reads simply, “BRsword sound files PART: 1 !”

In the tweet is a video. You can watch as @FortTory clicks through the sound files and listen to each one as it plays.

While a datamine is not a guarantee of a coming feature, it is usually pretty solid evidence, especially coming from a source as reliable as @FortTory. Since “BR_Sword_” is in the filenames, that certainly seems to imply we will be getting them in Battle Royale mode.

We may soon be swinging Swords in Battle Royale in Fortnite.

This showed up in the loading screen for Week 1 of Season 7. The Ice King and Sgt. Winter each have Swords, though it is impossible to say whether they are Wraps or variants of the same Sword or whether they are two completely different Swords.

Other Swords which have been featured in Fortnite include the Ruler Sword, the Shortblade, the Two-Handed Sword, the Machete, the Ninjato, the Highlander, the Argon Axe, and many others.
