The Division 2: All Exotic Weapons and How to Get Them

Much like the original Division, The Division 2 has a class of weapons more coveted than any other. Each of these Exotic weapons not only sports a unique look, they’re also tricked out with some suitably powerful perks. In the below guide we’ve listed all of The Division 2’s known Exotic weapons and how to obtain them.

The Division 2 Exotic Weapons

The Division 2 Exotic weapons

As of this writing there are a total of six known Exotic weapons in The Division 2. However, it’s possible that some additional Exotics simply haven’t been discovered yet. There’s also a high likelihood that Ubisoft will add more Exotics into the game over time. In addition to Exotic weapons The Division also had Exotic gear pieces like the coveted Ninja Messenger Bag.

Lullaby Shotgun

The Lullaby Exotic shotgun is the easiest Exotic to obtain…if you pre-ordered The Division 2. Those who pre-ordered any version of The Division 2 will find the Lullaby waiting for them in their stash. You can also craft an upgraded version of the Lullaby which scales with your character level. This means that the Lullaby is always a viable Exotic pick, assuming you don’t mind using shotguns.

Ruthless Rifle

The Ruthless Exotic Rifle is another pre-order exclusive weapon. However, it’s only available to those who sprung for The Division 2’s pricier Ultimate Edition.

Merciless Rifle

If you’re not eligible for the Ruthless rifle, you can still find its close cousin, the Merciless Exotic rifle. The only catch is that you need a little luck since Merciless is a purely RNG-based loot drop. Reports confirm that Merciless can drop as a daily VIP mission reward and from higher-difficulty story missions.

Chatterbox SMG

The Chatterbox Exotic SMG is another world drop that’s completely based on RNG. However, you can only find the Chatterbox in faction-specific chests (Hyena, True Sons, and Outcasts). Those chests, in turn, need corresponding faction keys. Fortunately for you, we previously covered how to find those keys. Reports suggest that Hyena chests have the greatest odds of dropping the Chatterbox but other factions are worth trying also.

Kendra’s Liberty Pistol

Unlike the above Exotics, the Kendra’s Liberty pistol isn’t a random world drop. However, the process of obtaining the pistol is pretty drawn out so prepare for some serious legwork. Said process begins by finding and killing the NPC boss Kendra at the end of the Capitol Building Stronghold mission. Upon death Kendra will drop a pistol trigger mechanism, kicking off the Kendra’s Liberty quest in earnest.

Players will need to then complete a series of three story missions and slay their respective bosses for more components. The missions in question are American History Museum, Viewpoint Museum, and Space Administration HQ. Lastly, the players needs to physically craft the pistol by gathering the following materials:

  • 19 Polycarbonate
  • 15 Carbon Fiber
  • 45 Receiver Components
  • A D50 High-End pistol

With those materials in hand the player can craft the Kendra’s Liberty pistol at their Base of Operations crafting station.

Sweet Dreams Shotgun

The means of obtaining the Sweet Dreams Exotic shotgun are pretty straightforward. However, in this case “straightforward” isn’t necessarily equated with “easy.” Claiming the shotgun requires completing the Roosevelt Island Stronghold mission on the ‘Challenging’ difficulty setting.
