The Division 2: How to Level Up Quickly

There’s a lot to appreciate about The Division 2 as players climb towards the level cap of 30. However, we understand some players just won’t be satisfied until they see that “30” next to their character profile. If you want to work through The Division 2’s character levels as fast as possible, the below tips can help.

The Division 2 Fast Leveling Tips

The Division 2 how to level up quickly

Virtually every activity in The Division 2 awards XP, so no matter what you’ll reach level 30 eventually. If, however, you want to be as efficient as possible, there are a few guidelines you should stick to.

Do Main Missions Whenever Possible

The Division 2’s main story missions take the longest to complete, but they also have the biggest mission-completion XP payouts. Whenever you gain access to a new main mission you should complete it as soon as possible. In most case completing the mission results in a guaranteed level-up.

Avoid Open-World Side Activities

Unless you’re working on a Project which requires them, you should avoid open-world side activities. These activities (rescuing hostages, disrupting enemy broadcasts, etc.) don’t award a lot of XP upon completion. Since you often have to spend several minutes completing a single side activity, it’s just not very efficient. Your time is much better spent liberating new city districts and working towards new main story missions.

Pick Up Bonus XP Perks

We previously covered some of the best active skills to unlock early, but what about passive perks? Well, if you want to maximize your XP gains then the bonus XP perks are a no-brainer. The bonus XP perk track awards a small bump of bonus XP for things like scoring headshots and hitting enemy weak spots. It doesn’t make a huge difference in the short time but every little bit helps as you approach the endgame.

Play Solo

Grouping up with other players can help you work through missions more quickly. However, it can also cost you combat XP since you’re only rewarded for enemies you damage and/or kill. You get the mission completion XP bonus either way so it’s usually better to solo missions when you’re able.

Once you finally do reach The Division 2’s level cap, you can start farming for enemy faction keys. Those keys in turn allow you to unlock chests containing high-end loot and other rewards.
