ZeniMax Online Studios has now announced the next major Chapter expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Online, which will take players to the homeland of the Khajiit. The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr is scheduled to release on all platforms on the 4th of June, and is now available to pre-order. However, with four different versions of the game available, and each featuring a whole host of pre-purchase rewards and bonus items, it can be a bit tricky to decide which version of the expansion is best for you.
The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr Standard Edition
If you don’t already own The Elder Scrolls: Online, then you can buy the Elsweyr Standard Edition. This purchase includes the base game, and all previously released Chapter DLCs; Morrowind, Summerset, and of course, the upcoming Elsweyr chapter. This version of the game is currently available to pre-order in both digital and physical form. If you purchase the digital version, however, you’ll be able to download and play the base game immediately, along with both the Morrowind, and Summerset chapters.
If you pre-order the Elsweyr Standard Edition, you’ll receive a number of pre-purchase rewards. These include the Blue Dragon Imp pet, the Noble Clan Chief costume, one Baandari Pedlar Crown Crate, 2 Crown Experience Scrolls, and a bundle of Elsweyr Treasure Maps. You’ll also receive the Rahd-m’Athra mount.
The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr Digital Upgrade
If you already own a copy of The Elder Scrolls: Online, then you obviously don’t need to buy the full Standard Edition. In this case, you can simply pre-order the game’s Digital Upgrade version, which includes the Elsweyr Chapter expansion only. Note that you can only purchase the upgrade version digitally. If you pre-order the digital upgrade version, you’ll get all the same pre-order rewards as the Standard Edition once the game launches. You’ll also receive a Rahd-m’Athra mount. However, unlike those who pre-order the Standard Edition, you’ll be able to use this mount in the game immediately; there’s no need to wait for the Elsweyr chapter to release.
The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr Collector’s Edition
If you want to get your hands on the Collector’s Edition of the Elsweyr Chapter, and you don’t already own Elder Scrolls: Online, then you can pre-order this version. Like the Standard Edition, it includes the base game and all major Chapter DLC; Morrowind, Summerset, and Elsweyr. You’ll get all the same pre-purchase reward items as the Standard Edition if you pre-order, including the Rahd-m’Athra mount. Not only that, but you’ll receive a number of special Collector’s Edition bonus items. While these items are only for the Elsweyr chapter, you’ll actually get the Collector’s Edition bonus items for the Morrowind and Summerset chapters too. Just like the Standard Edition, this version is available to pre-order in digital and physical form. If you purchase the digital version, you’ll be able to download and play the base game and first two chapters immediately.
The Elsweyr Collector’s Edition comes with five special items. Firstly, you’ll get the new Ashen Scar Jerboa pet, along with the Senche-Raht mount. You’ll also get the Dragonbone Outfit Style, the Archaic Lore Tablets memento, and a special Khajiiti Culture Emote Pack; this includes the Cat Contemplation, Feline Hygiene, and Pedlar Beckoning emotes.
The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr Digital Collector’s Edition Upgrade
Of course, if you’re an existing ESO player, you can still get the Elsweyr Collector’s Edition. Simply pre-order the Digital Collector’s Edition Upgrade, which is only available in digital form. This version only contains the upcoming Elsweyr Chapter, and isn’t bundled with the base game or previous chapters. If you pre-order, you’ll receive all the pre-purchase rewards listed in the DLC’s Standard Edition, as well as the Rahd-m’Athra mount. (Like the Standard Edition Digital Upgrade, this mount will be available for you to use in game straight away.) You’ll also get all of the Collector’s Edition bonus items.
