The PS5 Controller is Larger Than the PS4 Controller

Find the DualShock 4 a little, well, little? If you have longed for a bigger controller, you will be relieved to learn that the PS5 controller is larger than the DualShock 4. No, we still don’t know its exact dimensions. But we do have a useful photo to share with you which helps you visualize how large the controller is.

The PS5 Controller is Larger Than the DualShock 4

The The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley made the following tweet:

In the image, you see the DualSense 5 next to the DualShock 4. You can compare their sizes that way, and notice that the PS5 controller is larger than the PS4 controller. While compact is generally “better” with most types of hardware, with a controller, it can be problematic. Unless you have small hands, using a small controller can be a challenge. The DualSense 5 is probably a better size all around for a wider range of users with larger or smaller hands. Hopefully it won’t be too heavy. But the PS4 controller always seemed unusually light, so maybe this one will feel better all around to use.

If you want to learn more about the PS5 controller, take a look at some photos which show the details of the texturing on the grip. You can also find out about potential privacy issues involving the controller’s built-in mic. If you missed the reveal of the controller back in April, you can read more details about the DualSense 5.

The PlayStation 5 is still scheduled to arrive in stores in November even with everything going on with coronavirus. We recently learned that Sony is ramping up production because the company expects extra-high demand this holiday season. So when pre-orders become available, you may want to get a move on that as soon as you can. We will keep you posted with the latest updates on PS5 and the DualSense controller in our PlayStation news.
