The World Ends With You: Final Remix Switch Release Date Revealed for This Fall

Finally, The World Ends With You: Final Remix Switch release date has been revealed. Fans will have a chance to revisit this beloved cult classic JRPG or check it out for the very first time when it releases outside of Japan on October 12, 2018. This remaster of the original DS JRPG from Square Enix will be here in just a couple more months.

In the meantime, Square Enix has also released some brand new details regarding The World Ends With You: Final Remix. A brand new English trailer for the title has launched (which you can watch below), giving players a glimpse at some of the characters you will meet during your time in Shibuya.

The new The World Ends With You: Final Remix teaser trailer introduces players to main characters Neku, Shiki, Joshua, Beat, and Rhyme. If some of those names sound very musically-themed to you, you wouldn’t be wrong. That’s because this quirky JRPG is very different from most of Square Enix’s offerings.

Alongside fellow developer Jupiter, The World Ends With You: Final Remix is a strange game that is quite unlike any other JRPG out there. Unlike other Square Enix titles, Final Remix takes players, not to a fantasy or sci-fi otherworldly realm, but just across the pond to the Shibuya ward in modern day Tokyo, Japan.

Players play as protagonist Neku alongside partner Shiki as he participates in a dangerous game with mysterious origins. The combat is action-based, requiring players to perform certain touchscreen-based actions. It remains to be seen how well that combat will translate to the Switch in docked mode.

While we wait patiently for The World Ends With You: Final Remix release date of October 12, check out the other major title that releases that day, Black Ops 4, which recently had a beta on PS4.
