There is Hope for Rage 2 to Release on Switch

Publisher, Bethesda, continues to show nothing but strong support for the Nintendo Switch; with the recent releases of Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and the announcement that Doom Eternal would be coming to the hybrid console as well, Bethesda is one of Nintendo’s strongest advocates at the moment.

The first-person shooter that just screams Mad Max, Rage 2, is scheduled to release sometime in early 2019 and is being developed by Avalanche Studios in conjunction with id Software. The title is, of course, being published by Bethesda, which leads to the question: is it coming to Switch? The question that we usually ask for any big AAA title such as this one. In an interview with Tim Willits, id’s studio director was asked by Variety whether or not the game would be headed to Switch just like the upcoming Doom Eternal, and this was his response:

“We’re looking at the tech on that right now, and we’re still evaluating that. We stream everything, and we’re just looking… because everything is open, everything’s available, so there are no level loads. We are looking at that now, but we don’t know.”

Rage 2 Nintendo Switch

This statement isn’t a promise that the game will be coming to Nintendo’s console but it’s better than hearing that Rage 2 isn’t coming to the Switch at all, right? If Panic Button can successfully port Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Doom to the Nintendo Switch, then Bethesda should be able to release Rage 2 at the same time as the other consoles. The first Rage has not come to Switch, but we’re sure that there would be an audience for this sequel if it were to head to the hybrid console.

Rage 2 is scheduled to release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in Q1/Q2 of 2019. Meanwhile, check out some new gameplay of Doom Eternal.
