Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode will be getting three new weapons with the launch of Season 6 on the 7th of October. One of these, the Chrysalax, is a powerful new Wonder Weapon, while the other two are new Support Weapons; the game’s most powerful handgun and a decoy explosive.
Black Ops Cold War Season 6 – New Zombies Weapons
“The ultimate tool for splitting Zombies like wood,” writes Activision; “the Chrysalax can be discovered in ‘Forsaken’ as part of its own quest, through completing Trials, or by trying your luck at the Mystery Box.”
According to Activision, the Chrysalax isn’t merely an axe. Rather, that it has the ability to shift back and forth between an axe and a; “rapid-fire energy weapon”. Of course, as a Wonder Weapon, it will only be available in the new Forsaken map.
Alongside the Chrysalax, two new Support Weapons will also be available to use in Season 6. The first is, strictly speaking, not a ‘new’ weapon per se. The Hand Cannon was added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer in a Season 4 as a Scorestreak. In Season 6, the Hand Cannon will now be available in Zombies too. “Hindered only by a strong vertical kick and slow rate of fire,” writes Activision; “the Hand Cannon can blast away zombies with ease.”
The other Support Weapon coming in Season 6 is the ARC-XD. This powerful explosive is meant to serve as a decoy. When used, it emits a loud noise, drawing zombies to its location. The device will then emit pulses of Aether energy that will kill regular Zombies and even send them flying. Plus, the device is more than simply an explosive. According to Activision; “it is capable of fitting through tight crawl spaces,” allowing players to manoeuvre it precisely to wherever they want it to go.
