Treyarch Might Actually “Blackout” The Map In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout

When it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout, Treyarch’s new battle royale mode for Black Ops 4, we have no information. The studio is still active on bringing new features to the mode, prior to its release and its name might have more to do with its gameplay than we think.

On Reddit, Treyarch has created a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout related thread, addressing fans’ “need” to know more about the game’s BR mode. What we know for now is the list of perks available and some minor rumors. While they can’t reveal more, the thread suggests that the name might be more than what we think. Here’s the full statement:

Looking forward to the day we can tell you more about Blackout. More importantly, looking forward to working with you all to show you how we define features so we can understand very clearly what you think about them and where to take them and the list of features we could or should add.

Blackout starts on day 1, but what it means to color [the] world blackened we will work together on. I have a pile of suggestions from all around the building (and you all) for how the name of the mode creatively impacts the mode. We haven’t actioned any of them. I’m hyper focused on the gameplay systems at the moment.

What that basically means is that the basic architecture of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout is still not ready. This isn’t too alarming though as Treyarch has still a long way too go before the game releases this October.

Blackout Vehicle Drop

Some of the Blackout locations have been spotted, coming from previous Call of Duty titles. This gives us a sense as to how the new mode will be a collection of all things we love in the franchise. It seems far-fetched for Blackout to be showcased at E3 2018, since its far from ready. However, we hope so. Obviously.
