Whatever Epic Games Has Planned for Fortnite at The Game Awards is a Secret

You are likely aware that The Game Awards will be featuring Fortnite, and you might know that some kind of a “World Premiere” is planned at the event. What kind of premiere? A lot of folks have gone in with the assumption that it will be for Season 7. But we now know that isn’t going to be the case.

Here Is What We Know About the Upcoming World Premiere Event

Today, Geoff Keighley, producer for The Game Awards, posted this tweet:

The text reads, “Thursday during #TheGameAwards don’t miss a @fortnitegame announcement and world premiere from Epic’s @DonaldMustard, streaming live at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT everywhere. And oh yeah, keep your game close. #WorldsWillChange.”

Senior PR Manager at Epic Games Nick Chester followed that up with an intriguing tweet of his own:

The text reads, “I can’t stress enough how much we have going on this week. Geoff isn’t talking about Season 7 launch here. Tune in!”

Taken together, these are pretty fascinating tweets. Even though the Season 7 launch is coming up, apparently there is something else going on which is as big a deal or even a bigger deal.

Our guess at this point is that it may involve Season 7, even though it is something which goes beyond Season 7 itself. The most interesting statement is “And oh yeah, keep your game close.”

Whatever Epic Games plans to reveal at The Game Awards, it doesn’t concern Season 7.

This implies two things (possibly). The first is that whatever the premiere concerns, you may be able to check it out right away after the reveal in-game. The second possible implication is that those who do not log in soon after the announcement could end up missing out on something.

So don’t forget to watch The Game Awards on Thursday at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT. While you wait for the announcement, catch up on Fortnite news. There may be a lot of excitement coming up, but there is a lot going on right now too with the recent patch and all the new additions it brings to the game.
