August is here! That means it is time for new free games through Games with Gold. But what will the Xbox Live free Games with Gold for August 2019 titles be? Microsoft has made its official announcement, so now you get to find out.
Xbox Games with Gold Free August 2019 Games
Below is the list of Xbox Games with Gold free August 2019 games as revealed in the official Microsoft announcement post:
- Gears of War 4 ($29.99 ERP): Available August 1 to 31 on Xbox One
- Forza Motorsport 6 ($99 ERP): Available August 16 to September 15 on Xbox One
- Torchlight ($14.99 ERP): Available August 1 to 15 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow ($19.99 ERP): Available August 16 to 31 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
None of these games were in our August 2019 Xbox Live Games with Gold free games predictions, but that’s okay! This selection brings plenty of excitement to our consoles.
So first up, this is your chance to catch up on Gears of War 4 before Gears 5 comes out in September. As described in Microsoft’s linked post, “the squad must discover the source of a terrifying new enemy and rescue their loved ones after escaping an attack on their village. After defeating the Swarm in the campaign, don’t forget to check out Horde and Versus multiplayer. As part of the Road to Gears 5, completing achievements and challenges in all three modes can earn you rewards and character skins that you can take with you into Gears 5.”
So this free opportunity to play Gears of War 4 actually gives you a chance to earn lasting value to enjoy in Gears 5! Awesome, right?
Next up is Forza Motorsport 6, which allows you to customize more than 450 vehicles and race in 26 locations. Also free in August 2019 is the original Torchlight, a roleplaying adventure by the team that brought us Diablo. So this is the perfect time to make it free, since Torchlight II is coming out on September 3rd. Finally, we’ve got Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which lets you take on the role of Gabriel in his quest for revenge against the Lords of Shadow.
