Zane Gets Major Buff in the Latest Borderlands 3 Patch

Gearbox recently launched a new Borderlands 3 patch, and while it principally includes a series of hotfixes for weapon balancing, it does also address balance issues with some of the game’s Vault Hunters. Zane players get the biggest benefit from this, with some major buffs to his Action Skills. Meanwhile, Amara and FL4K have both received some ability tweaks.

Vault Hunter Changes in the Latest Borderlands 3 Patch

The latest Borderlands 3 patch mostly focuses on weapon balance. It makes a wide variety of changes to damage, fire rate, and handling speeds, for example. When it comes to Vault Hunters, however, the patch only addresses issues with Zane, Amara, and FL4K. Amara’s Guardian Angel now restores only 50% health instead of 100%, for example. Additionally, her Glamour damage penalty has gone down from -30% to -10%. FL4K, meanwhile, only has adjustments to his Guerillas in the Mist ability. The duration has been reduced to 6 seconds, and its critical damage bonus has gone down from 50% to 25%.

Borderlands 3 Patch Buffs Zane

Zane, however, receives the most changes, and generally gets improvements. “Zane’s gadgets were great at providing additional utility but lacked impact as players levelled up. We increased the Digi-Clone damage with all equipped weapon so the skill can scale better with players as they get to higher levels and harder content,” explains Gearbox. The Digi-Clone’s damage has gone up by 38%. Meanwhile, his other adjustments are relevant to his Drone action skill.

“The Drone requires a lot of player involvement to take full advantage of its damage output and increasing the base damage as well as the augments will greatly increase the Drone’s versatility,” states Gearbox; “and reward players even more for using it effectively”. Firstly, Drone damage overall has gone up by 50%. The damage penalty for Cryo Bullets has been removed, while Drone Rocket damage has also gone up by 50%. Finally, the Almighty Ordnance Rockets now deal +75% damage.
