Niantic is stepping up their game with the Pokemon GO updates over the past months, adding more and more content and events into the game. Latest news reveal that the studio intends to provide fans with the opportunity to pledge their allegience to another team than the one they originally did, but that might take some time before it goes live.
According to FutureGameReleases, Niantic will give Pokemon GO players the opportunity to change their team through a new game feature, which will, sadly, take some time before it rolls out. They said:
“We plan to add this functionality to Pokemon Go in the future. We are working on a few other big features first, so we don’t have an estimate on when changing teams will be possible.”
There are three teams in Pokemon Go, Team Instinct, Team Mystic and Team Valor:
Team Valor (red) – Candela (leader), Moltres (mascot)

Team Instinct (yellow) – Spark (leader) and Zapdos (mascot)
- Pokemon are creatures with excellent intuition. I bet the secret to their intuition is related to how they’re hatched. Come on and join my team! You never lose when you trust your instincts!
Players are mostly settled with their team of chossing and you can pretty much tell which one dominates your area, it’s perfect for them to change it and make the most out of their raid and gym battle potential.
Note that taking part in raids that the most damage is dealt by your team grants you extra pokeballs and you also have the chance to get some extra coins for adding Pokemon in your neighbouring gym. All these will play a huge role to what players will choose to change to when this feature releases.
