Big PSN Changes Are Coming For PlayStation 5

PlayStation 5 could come out by Christmas next year, and Sony is working hard to make sure it’s a great product. The next-generation console will bring many great things, including big changes to PlayStation Network. Windows Central writer Jez Corden has revealed that the company is gearing up for some major changes to PSN.

PlayStation Network has received many changes in the last few years. It was far from perfect on PlayStation 3, but at least it was free. Sony has improved the gaming network for PlayStation 4, and it seems that the company will do it again.

PlayStation Network Improvement

While PlayStation Network is fine right now, there is no doubt that there is room for improvement. Corden hasn’t revealed any details about the upcoming changes, but we can expect a major infrastructure update.

PlayStation 4 has been incredibly successful and has dominated the console market. As of 2018, PlayStation 4 has sold two times more units than its main rival, Xbox One, and Sony will have to keep doing a great job to keep its costumers.

Microsoft’s Xbox One X is a great console and it has proved that the company can release a fantastic product. Because of this, we can expect a close race between Sony and Microsoft, and hopefully this race brings the cross-platform play between these two rivals.

Will the next generation of consoles bring PlayStation-Xbox crossplay?

At the moment, Sony is opposed to cross-play functionality with Xbox. However, this could easily change if Microsoft proves to be a tough competitor with the next generation of consoles. This is one thing Sony could improve for PlayStation Network, and many PlayStation gamers would be happy to connect with their Xbox friends and play together.

Additionally, the PSN update could allow players to change their usernames. This is one feature Sony has yet to implement, so we are hoping it will come with PlayStation 5.
