CD Projekt Red recently announced the release date of Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, the upcoming standalone RPG based on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. The game will be releasing on PC in late October, and on consoles in the first week of December. Ahead of the release, CD Projekt Red has launched a new poster contest for fans.
The New Poster Contest for Thronebreaker
Thronebreaker is set to launch alongside Homecoming, Gwent’s long-awaited overhaul. Homecoming will also be the official launch of Gwent itself; despite the fact that Gwent already has a sizeable eSports following, the game is technically still in a pre-release form. Homecoming will be the game’s official release, and comes with some major changes, including the reduction of the game’s card rows from 6 to 4. Thronebreaker, on the other hand, is a standalone RPG experience boasting over thirty hours of story content. The new tale is set before the events of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt.
“The world is on the brink of chaos as two armies fight over the Northern Realms,” says CD Projekt Red; “Queen Meve – a war-veteran ruler of Lyria and Rivia – is thrown back into the battlefield to get back what was taken from her. What this truly royal tale needs is a truly epic poster. That’s where you come in – join the Thronebreaker Poster Contest!”
