Apex Legends Season 2 Gameplay Trailer Reveals Massive New Hazards

A lot of new content is coming to Apex Legends on the 2nd of July with the launch of Season 2, but one of the most intriguing is certainly the monstrous new arrivals coming to King’s Canyon. Perhaps the biggest question surrounding these towering interlopers, especially now that they have been revealed, is how exactly they will impact gameplay. Now, thanks to a new Apex Legends Season 2 gameplay trailer, fans have some idea.

What’s Revealed in the Apex Legends Season 2 Gameplay Trailer

A recent cinematic trailer released for Apex Legends Season 2 showed the collapse of the King’s Canyon repulsor tower. This opened up King’s Canyon to the planet’s native fauna; several monstrous reptilian species, one of which is truly colossal. This beast was teased in the trailer shown at EA Play, but only its eye was shown then. Now, we know that these gargantuan quadrupeds will be striding slowly through the battlefield. While they’re unlikely to pay much attention to players, players would be wise to pay attention to them… lest they be flattened to paste beneath a trunk-like foot!

The new gameplay trailer also gives fans another look at Wattson, the first new Legend coming in Season 2. Wattson is a unique defensive character with the ability to rapidly set up electric fencing; allowing her to establish defensive perimeters for her squad. Furthermore, Season 2 will bring a brand-new weapon to the game; the L-STAR, a classic energy-based SMG which is returning from Titanfall 2.

All told, players have a lot to look forward to in Apex Legends Season 2, especially since it’s all coming in a free content update. Of course, there will be a new Battle Pass too. The game’s Lead Product Manager recently offered fans a breakdown of what they can expect from the new daily and weekly challenges. According to him, Respawn listened to player feedback from Season 1. The studio is reportedly hoping that Season 2 will offer much more than the last one.
