The upcoming Witcher Netflix series is currently in the process of carrying out auditions. No actual casting decisions have been announced yet. However, it seems that some of the audition scripts are now available online thanks to a leak. Fortunately for fans, the series’ writers were wise enough to foresee this eventuality; fans aren’t at any risk of spoilers due to the leaked scripts.
Why Fans Aren’t at Risk of Spoilers from the Leaked Witcher Netflix Scripts
Lauren Hissrich, the showrunner for the Witcher Netflix series, announced the start of auditions several weeks ago. At the time, she also laid out a plan to prevent spoilers from audition script leaks. Unfortunately, it seems plenty of fans online either have very short memories or else missed her explanation. Essentially, the audition scripts which were sent out weren’t taken from the final script; each of the scenes is original and purely for the purpose of auditioning. It’s important to note that they’re also not representative of the script’s final quality. Hissrich took to Twitter to remind fans that they had nothing to worry about.
Remember when I said that casting sides would leak and not to worry because they are not real scenes or scenarios or even storylines from the show?

Each of the audition scripts contains dialogue between two key characters, and in the case of the leaked script, the dialogue is between Geralt and Yennefer. Fans can read the leaked script in full here. Some fans have been critical of the leaked dialogue, but many are likely forgetting the second part of Hissrich’s explanation; these audition scripts are not representative of the final script. Hissrich stated as much on Twitter after fans began dissecting the leaked dialogue.

Ever since the first announcement that there would be a Witcher Netflix series, Hissrich has been far more publicly active than most showrunners. She has made a point to keep fans up-to-date at every stage of the process. Hopefully, the next major announcement to come from Hissrich will be casting decisions; fans are already speculating about possible castings.
