Bethesda Plans to Host “The Making of Fallout 76” Panel at E3 Next Tuesday

The schedule for panels and events at the three-day E3 Coliseum event has now been announced, and it includes a surprise panel hosted by Bethesda. The company’s main presentation is scheduled for this coming Sunday, the 10th. However, it seems that Bethesda will also be hosting a panel entitled “The Making of Fallout 76” on Tuesday the 12th. The panel will be hosted by long-time director Todd Howard, suggesting that he is indeed the director for Fallout 76.

The Making of Fallout 76 Panel

“The Making of Fallout 76” will take place at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET on Tuesday. Todd Howard will be joined by Danny O’Dwyer, the creator of NoClip, which recently published a documentary about the history of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. The event will be moderated by Geoff Keighley, the executive producer of the Game Awards. Interestingly, Todd Howard is set to be interviewed by Keighley again at the end of June; after he receives an “Industry Legend” award at the annual Gamelab conference.

The Making of Fallout 76 Panel is Scheduled for Next Tuesday

The event will feature the live premiere of NoClip’s new behind the scenes documentary about the development of Fallout 76. Following that, Todd and O’Dwyer will have a live Q&A with audience members about the documentary, and the future of Bethesda Game Studios in general. At present, it’s unknown whether Howard is actually the director of Fallout 76. However, given his role at this event, it seems very likely that he is. As the former director of both Fallout 3 and 4, it’s hardly surprising.

Fallout 76 is still expected to dominate Bethesda’s presentation at E3. However, it seems fans will now get more information about the upcoming title than was originally anticipated. There is very little reliable information about the game at present. Rumors suggest that the game is an “online survival RPG”; if they prove true, Fallout 76 would be markedly different than previous entries in the franchise. No Fallout game has ever featured online multiplayer, nor has any core entry of the Elder Scrolls series.
