To mark the launch of Season Three in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, Activision is starting the season with another Double XP Weekend. The timing, of course, gives players ample incentive – if they needed more – to get stuck into the new season over the weekend.
Black Ops Cold War Season 3’s First 2XP Event
The first Double XP Weekend of Season Three began earlier today, at 10:00 AM PT. It will be live over the weekend and come to an end at 10:00 AM PT on Monday the 26th of April. During the event, all Black Ops Cold War and Warzone players will benefit from Double XP and Double Weapon XP. The event comes hot on the heels of several recent Double XP Weekend events which Activision has run in the closing weeks of Season Two; incentivising players to finish their Battle Passes before the end of the season.
With the launch of Season Three yesterday, Call of Duty players have no shortage of new content to experience. Unlike Seasons One and Two, Season Three launched with three new weapons rather than merely two. These are the PPSh-41 SMG, Swiss K31 Sniper Rifle, and the classic Ballistic Knife. Indeed, the latter plays a major role in the new Sticks and Stones party game mode, which also arrived with the season launch. Similarly, Season Three also launched with one extra Operator than normal. While Wraith is available as a Tier 0 reward in the Battle Pass, like usual, Captain Price has also been given as a free reward to all owners of Black Ops Cold War.
With Double XP now available, players have plenty of incentive to try out one of the new Multiplayer maps; Yamantau and Diesel. Or, alternatively, to jump into Warzone to experience the game’s next chapter. Indeed, almost every area of the current Call of Duty got something new at the start of Season Three. Zombies got Duga, for example; a new Outbreak region which continues the Dark Aether storyline.
