Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters: What We Know So Far About Amara

When Borderlands 3 launches in September, players will be able to set out into the new game as one of four new Vault Hunters; Amara, FL4K, Moze, and Zane Flynt. Thus far, Gearbox hasn’t revealed much information about these new characters, with promotional content focusing more on the game’s action. However, the studio today revealed that they will be releasing more details about the Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters throughout the next two weeks. At present, fans don’t know much about Amara, the new Siren, although her cosplay guide does feature a hint at her backstory…

Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters: Amara

“A hero born in the slums of Partali, Amara is most at home on the battlefield or in a brawl,” reads Amara’s cosplay guide; “Never content to stand idly by, she uses her Siren abilities, to smash oppressors and dismantle her foes. While in her Phasetrance, she channels her Siren energy to form powerful arms that can shoot blasts of force or crush enemies in their grip. Brash, aggressive, and self-assured, Amara doesn’t let anything stand in her way.”

Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters Amara What We Know 2

Amara is the fifth Siren to appear in the Borderlands series. According to the lore, there are only six Sirens in existence. Both Borderlands and Borderlands 2 featured a Siren as a playable character; Lillith and Maya. Additionally, Commandant Steele and Angel were both Sirens, although they are both now dead. Although Lilith will be returning in Borderlands 3, she seems to have somehow lost her Siren abilities. Maya will also be returning, and may serve to introduce another new Siren, as her own cosplay guide refers to her training an apprentice.

Amara looks set to be a much more frontline Siren than either Maya or Lilith. Her Siren abilities are much more offensive in nature than, for example, Maya’s ability to trap enemies. Her arms can be used for both ranged and close-quarters attacks. Although, the focus seems to be more on melee combat. As such, players are likely to find that playing Amara is a very different experience to playing Lilith or Maya. For now, fans should stay tuned for more information about Amara and the other Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters coming in the next two weeks.
