Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter Details Will Release During the Next 2 Weeks

The next two weeks are likely to be packed with new info for Borderlands fans thanks to Gearbox, who have announced that they will be revealing new details about the new Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters every Tuesday and Thursday. The announcement was made earlier today by the studio, who Tweeted; “Get to know your Vault Hunters! Join us each Tuesday and Thursday for the next 2 weeks as we offer deeper looks into the stories and personalities of our Borderlands 3 heroes.”

The Four New Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters

Thus far, although Gearbox has had a very aggressive approach to marketing Borderlands 3, the studio hasn’t actually revealed much about the Vault Hunters themselves. Most of the promotional material has focused on action, rather than detail. Like every other Borderlands game, Borderlands 3 will be introducing four new playable Vault Hunters; Amara, FL4K, Moze, and Zane.

Amara will be the game’s Siren, although she has a very different aesthetic to that of Maya and Lillith; emphasising close-quarters combat with huge arms of pure energy. Moze, meanwhile, fills the soldier role previously occupied by Axton and Roland. Where those two could deploy turrets, Moze can actually summon a mech which she can pilot. (And which other players can ride on.) Where Borderlands 1 had Mordecai “The Hunter” and Borderlands 2 had Zer0 “The Assassin,” Borderlands 3 will have Zane Flynt as “The Operative”. His abilities seem to allow him to deploy drones and holograms of himself. In the latter case, his abilities are reminiscent of Jack, the DLC Vault Hunter from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters Details Coming Soon

Finally, Borderlands 3 features FL4K, a robot “Beastmaster,” who can control up to three monstrous pets. FL4K has a play-style may bear some similarities to two past Vault Hunters; Gaige and Wilhelm. Gaige was a DLC Vault Hunter for Borderlands 2 who had a robot companion, while Wilhelm featured in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and could summon a pair of drones. It’s currently unknown exactly how FL4K’s pets will work in-game, however.
