Character Customisation Highlighted in Far Cry New Dawn Trailer

As of today, Far Cry New Dawn is now available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The Far Cry spin-off title is a direct sequel to the story of Far Cry 5, taking players to the post-apocalyptic landscape of Hope County seventeen years later. Seventeen years and a nuclear war have certainly transformed this setting; the game has an entirely different aesthetic than its predecessor. As part of that, players now have a whole host of over-the-top customisation options. In their final pre-launch video, Ubisoft showcased some of these in a customisation-focused Far Cry New Dawn trailer.

The Character Customisation Far Cry New Dawn Trailer

Starting with the tagline, “New Dawn, New You,” this Far Cry New Dawn trailer quickly sets itself apart from the style of Far Cry 5. Emphasising two-player co-op throughout; the trailer showcases some of the silliest and most over-the-top outfits, weapons and vehicles from the game. Fear not if this neon wardrobe isn’t your cup of tea, however; the game also features plenty of standard outfits which fit the ‘rural survivalist’ part of the game’s aesthetic very well. However, if you want to be as over-the-top as possible, Far Cry New Dawn certainly caters to that desire.

The latest Far Cry features a whole host of absurd special outfits, including one with a robotic arm, a unicorn onesie, and even a full suit of medieval plate armour. These outfits can be unlocked by conquering the various outposts in the game. Each outpost has a single associated outfit, and you’ll need to repeat the outpost multiple times to unlock all four pieces of an outfit. This can by done using the new “Scavenge” mechanic, which allows you to abandon an outpost and let higher-rank enemies move in, then take it over once again.

The new weapon and vehicle tiers also allow Ubisoft to include some crazy options, especially in Tiers 3 and 4. At this level, you’ll see plenty of flashy and over-the-top weapons, including the Rainbow Trike, which was a pre-order bonus skin for the game. In keeping with the aesthetic, you’ll also find weapons, vehicles and outfits styled after Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon; Ubisoft’s original Far Cry spin-off title.
