Destiny 2 The Reckoning gameplay tips

The Reckoning is split into multiple difficulty tiers, but even its lowest difficulty will test your skills. Difficulty tier 1 technically has a recommended power of 650, but that’s not a strict barrier. As long as your group is solid you can manage it in the low to mid-640’s. For the higher difficulty tiers, though, you’ll want to push your power up as much as possible.

Dominate Your Enemies

Each “run” in The Reckoning involves fighting waves of Taken enemies. Your ultimate goal is to built a “Dominance” meter up to 100 percent before the five-minute timer expires. If your team fills up the meter, then a Taken champion spawns and the timer is reset to two minutes. Slay the Taken champion before the timer is up and victory is yours.

Fight Smart, Fight Fast

Quickly killing Taken fills the Dominance meter up. However, the meter slowly decays whenever Taken aren’t being vaporized. This means you have to kill efficiently, but also cautiously.

If you die you can eventually respawn or have a teammate revive you. However, the respawn timer is pretty long (about 20 seconds) which means multiple deaths can really add up. Every second you’re waiting for a respawn is a second where you’re not killing Taken. Make sure to fight smart and to coordinate with your teammates whenever possible.

Time Your Supers Wisely

The Reckoning’s time limit also means that you’ll usually only get one or two supers per run. The ideal time for using your super usually depends on how well your team is performing. If you’re struggling to get your Dominance up, a well-placed super can provide a noticeable boost. When you can, though, you should try to save your super for the Taken champion. The champion is pretty tough and you don’t have a lot of time to burn it down.

Unlimited Second Chances

Failing a Reckoning run isn’t a huge deal since you can trigger a fresh run from the starting mote bank. If you wagered a synthesized Mote, you can reclaim it and wager it again once the bank resets. The “Public Event” setup of The Reckoning also facilities attempting multiple runs in a row. If you’ve got a solid group together, go ahead and give it another go.
