Destiny 2’s PC Version Is Entirely Free for a Limited Time

As part of the BlizzCon 2018 opening ceremony, Destiny 2 developer Bungie appeared to make an announcement of its own. For a limited time, all PC users who have a Battle.net account can claim a free copy of Destiny 2. Best of all, once the game is claimed, it’s yours to keep forever.

Destiny 2 Free For All PC Players

PC players with a Battle.net account can claim their free copy of Destiny 2 between November 2 and November 18. Battle.net accounts are free to make so the only thing you’ll have to spend is a bit of your free time. That’s not a bad deal for what is honestly one of the most solid sci-fi shooters in today’s gaming market. Once you make your account and log in, you’ll find your free copy waiting in your Gifts tab.

Destiny 2's base version is free on PC for a limited time.

The free copies which are available to PC players are for Destiny 2’s standard edition. This means you can only play the base game, though that’s still a great deal considering the price of entry. Plus, you can now purchase all of Destiny 2’s three current expansions for a one-time price of $40. This essentially means you get the complete up-to-date version of Destiny 2 for less than the base game’s launch price.

Bungie also made sure to acknowledge the many players who already own Destiny 2 on PC. Starting in December, existing PC players will receive an exclusive in-game emblem to commemorate their loyalty.

Finally, Bungie is hosting another free Gambit trial to entice players who have yet to purchase the game’s Forsaken expansion. The free trial will begin in one week on Friday, November 9, and will run until Sunday, November 11.

Meanwhile, Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost event is still around until next Tuesday, November 6. That means there’s still time to farm for the 600 Power Horror Story auto rifle.
