Elder Scrolls: Online Free to Play for One Week Starting March 28th

This week, Bethesda is celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls franchise. In fact, they’ve made Morrowind free to download for one day today. ZeniMax is also joining the celebrations, and as such, the studio will be making The Elder Scrolls: Online free to play for one week on the 28th of March.

The Elder Scrolls: Online Will be Free to Play for One Week

The Elder Scrolls: Arena released in 1994, and as such, this week marks the long-running franchise’s 25th anniversary. While Bethesda is running a number of celebrations, ZeniMax is also getting The Elder Scrolls: Online involved. The studio released a brand-new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Elsweyr DLC today, and also made Elsweyr’s prologue quest available in-game. The biggest celebration for The Elder Scrolls: Online, however, is a new Free Play Event.

Elder Scrolls Online Free to Play One Week

This Free Play Event will begin on the 28th of March and run until the 3rd of April. Throughout that time, The Elder Scrolls: Online will be available to play for free on all platforms. This event gives gamers access to the entirety of the base game, including the newly-added prologue quest for Elsweyr. It also includes access to the game’s first chapter DLC; Morrowind. When it releases, Elsweyr will be the third chapter DLC, following Morrowind and Summerset.

To participate in the event, gamers can visit the Free Play Page on the game’s official website. There, simply select your preferred platform to gain access. Console gamers should bear in mind that they will need either a PlayStation Plus membership or Xbox Live Gold membership to participate. Although the Free Play Event won’t start for a few days, ZeniMax have also put the base game and Summerset chapter DLC on sale for all platforms, on both the game’s Buy Now Page and on a variety of retailer sites. The Summerset DLC will remain on sale until the 2nd of April, while the base game will be on sale until the 9th of April.
