New Gameplay Trailer Released for The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr DLC

ZeniMax Online Studios have released a brand-new gameplay trailer for The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr; the upcoming chapter DLC and headline release of the Season of the Dragon. Elsweyr is set to be the game’s biggest release of 2019, and the third ‘Chapter’ DLC, following on from Morrowind and Summerset. The expansion brings Elsweyr as a whole new Zone in the game, along with tons of new content, including dragons for the first time in The Elder Scrolls: Online.

The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr DLC was announced earlier this year. It forms part of the ‘Season of the Dragon,’ a year-long event which features four DLC releases. The first of these, Wrathstone, recently released. Elsweyr is the next part of the season and will release in June. It will be followed by two more dungeon pack releases which will be more akin to Wrathstone. All four expansions, however, are part of the same ‘Season of the Dragon’ story. Wrathstone, for example, tells the story of how the two halves of the Dragonstone were recovered. As we know from Elsweyr’s announcement trailer, that Dragonstone will be what causes the dragons to be released.

The new trailer gives fans their first glimpse at what Elsweyr will look like in-game. In addition to the sprawling new desert region, the homeland of the Khajiit, the trailer also shows off the dragons which will appear in the expansion. This will be the first time that dragons appear in an Elder Scrolls game since the release of Skyrim. Additionally, the trailer gives players a look at the new Necromancer class which will be added to the game with the launch of Elsweyr. It seems that necromancy has a part to play in Elsweyr’s story, as undead Khajiit make a notable appearance in the trailer.

The Elder Scrolls: Online Elsweyr is due to release on the 4th of June. Its price has yet to be announced. However, fans can safely expect the cost to be comparable with the prices of Summerset and Morrowind; the two past Chapter DLC releases.
