The first-ever FIFA eChampions League 2019 wrapped up Day 1 on Friday, April 26. This qualifying tournament features some of the best gamers around when it comes to the FIFA 19 title. Amongst them are top talents like F2Tekkz, MsDossary, and Nicolas99FC. However, there are also newer stars making a name for themselves. Here’s some of the highlights from the Day 1 results at eChampions League 2019.
FIFA eChampions League 2019 Day 1 results: Four undefeated gamers
The eChampions League features the best FIFA gamers in the world representing 25 different countries. Right now, it’s no surprise when one looks at the names of the gamers who remain undefeated after the first day at eChampions League 2019. They include well-known professionals such as ePremiere League champ F2Tekkz and April FUT Champion MSDossary. Vitaly Maestro and Nicolas99FC are also still amongst the four undefeated. However, that will all change on Saturday.
All four gamers are 4-0 so far, but have scored various amounts of goals during their matchups. MSDossary scored 26 to lead all competitors, while Nicolas99FC has 21 goals. Vitaly Maestro has 19 goals and F2Tekkz has 18 goals.
On Day 2, one of these four competitors will rise above the rest. All four have quite the resumes but only one will emerge as the ultimate winner to take the most points and cash. That said, they’re all competing to qualify for one of eight spots at the eChampions League final in Madrid on May 31.
FIFA eChampions League 2019 results: Competitor of Day 1, Top Goal
After the first day’s results, it wasn’t one of the undefeated gamers who was named “Top competitor” for Day 1, though. Instead, it was American competitor Gordon Thornsberry. He has a 3-1 record heading into the second round. Thornsberry is the 2017 USA eCopa Champion and 2018 NA Gfinity Champion. He not only represents the United States of America, but also the FC Cincinnati team from MLS.
Thornsberry also has scored just as many goals as one of the top undefeated gamers in the tournament MSDossary, so he’s one to keep an eye on for Day 2.
Just as there is a Top Competitor for eChampions League Day 1, there was also a top goal scored. That went to none other than Tuga. EA Sports FIFA shared the highlight of the first day in a video they posted to Twitter (below).
The goal involves football phenomenon Luka Modric keeping his composure and scoring with a kick straight on the goal. The commentary team praised Tuga’s skills in scoring the fabulous looking shot during Day 1’s competition.
The FIFA eChampions League action will return with Day 2’s group stages on Saturday, April 27. Once the day has ended, we’ll officially have our 2019 eChampions League winner for this tournament. We’ll also know which of these gamers is heading to the final in Madrid. Fans can witness it all go down via the official Twitch channel. It all starts at 1 p.m. BST and runs until 9 p.m. BST as the Round of 16 takes place.
