Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, Final Fantasy XII Switch Release Dates Announced

Square Enix is letting open the floodgates for Final Fantasy Switch announcements today. We now know both the Final Fantasy XII Switch release date and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster release date today. Both games will be making their debut on a Nintendo platform in just a few short months in April 2019. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be the first to arrive.

The Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster release date is set for April 16, 2019. Meanwhile, theĀ Final Fantasy XII Switch release date will be April 30, 2019. In addition, both games will be making their debut on Xbox One as well on those same days. No pricing was revealed for either remaster but they are still a few months away from release.

For those who don’t know, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster bundles together both the 10th game in the series and its direct sequel. Originally released on PlayStation 2, this duo of games will be available in HD for both Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. The story follows Tidus and summoner Yuna as they set on a journey to save the world of Spira.

On the other hand, we also have Final Fantasy XII Switch and Xbox One. This 12th main entry in the series follows Vaan and Ashe as they set out on a journey across the war-torn world of Ivalice. This Zodiac Age version of the game comes with some major improvements including better visuals and more gameplay options.

This is exciting news for Final Fantasy fans as both games will now be available in portable mode on Nintendo Switch. Though it is worth noting that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is on Vita as well. This author is super excited to play through Final Fantasy XII once again but on the go for the very first time.
