Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.56 Arrives Next Week, Brings Final Stormblood Story

Square Enix announced today in a press release that Final Fantasy XIV patch 4.56 is arriving soon. How soon? Next week, to be exact. This next major update for the MMORPG will be released on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. It will be bringing with it a handful of goodies for players to enjoy including the final Stormblood story quests before the next expansion.

Final Fantasy XIV patch 4.56 will be bringing the second batch of main scenario quests that began with the previous major update, patch 4.5. Known as “A Requiem for Heroes Part 2”, these set of quests will conclude the Stormblood expansion and post-Stormblood questlines. As such, it will likely leave players on a nice cliffhanger and tease for the Shadowbringers expansion this summer.

You can see a little tease of what’s to come next week in the Final Fantasy XIV patch 4.56 in the screenshots above. But the new main scenario quests aren’t the only things that players can look forward to in the new patch. It will also include new adventures of everyone’s favorite inspector extraordinaire Hildibrand, and lastly, new Stormblood Beast Tribe quests.

This is all exciting news for FFXIV fans since 2019 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for the MMO. Players won’t have to go months without new content either as other events like the Final Fantasy XV collaboration are set to happen between now and the launch of Shadowbringers this summer. In addition, the Tokyo Fan Fest happens this weekend.

We are sure to get a ton of information about the Shadowbringers expansion, including potentially another new class and much more. Shadowbringers releases in early July, bringing entirely new areas, a new story to complete, a new level cap, and at least one new class and race. Be sure to stay tuned right here for more info on FFXIV in the coming months.
