Fire Emblem: Three Houses Formally Introduces the Black Eagles

Nintendo has recently released a video on their YouTube channel detailing the ins and outs of the Black Eagles. One of three titular three houses present at the Officer’s Academy, the Black Eagles are a force to be reckoned with. In the end though, this is big news because promotion for Fire Emblem: Three Houses has finally left Japan and reached our shores.

Potent Magic & Royal Bloodlines

The video begins by introducing Edelgard von Hresvelg of the Adrestian Empire. The future leader of the empire leads the Black Eagles of the Officer’s Academy. Edelgard is a strong, stoic leader who believes that the powerful crests held by each royal family will spell doom for the land of Fódlan. She leads the several members of the Eagles, some of whom she goes on to introduce.

As Edelgard speaks on the virtues and skills of each of her classmates their affinity for magic becomes more apparent. The first of the Black Eagles to be introduced is Hubert, a fiercely loyal mage with a will of ironclad resolve. The warrior princess Petra carries the regal blood of one of the empire’s vassal states, and as such has yet to fully master Fódlan’s common tongue. Finally, she welcomes Linhardt into the fold, a mage known well for his dedicated research on the crests, as well as his affinity for naps.

Though there are several more students that were not introduced in this short video, this should offer fans a glimpse into what choice they will make. After all, only one of the houses in the game can be lead by the protagonist. Following Edelgard’s presentation of the Black Eagles, it’s become quite clear that this decision will not be an easy one. Fire Emblem: Three Houses releases July 26 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
