With Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supecross, we have plenty to keep us busy through December 2019 through PlayStation Plus. But what can we look forward to playing as we change our calendars to the New Year? Here are our free PlayStation Plus January 2020 games predictions.
1. Yakuza 6
One upcoming game release for 2020 is Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The game will come out in January in Japan and later in 2020 worldwide. It is also known as “Like a Dragon 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness.” It will be a soft reboot for the franchise since its genre will change and so will its protagonist. Even the setting will be different.
Why not make Yakuza 6 free to PS Plus subscribers in January? Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 all have been free through the service, but never Yakuza 6.
2. Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise
Maybe a different game by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (the developer for Yakuza: Like a Dragon) will be available for free to PS Plus subscribers next month. One idea would be Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise. This game plays similarly to the Yakuza franchise, but is based on a manga. Released last October, it has not yet been free through PS Plus.
3. Mega Man 11
Releasing on January 21st on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch is Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. Maybe this is the right time to make Mega Man 11 free through PS Plus. This installment in the series came out in October of last year for PS4 and Xbox One along with Switch and PC. The game received widespread praise for its classic retro feel.
4. Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game
Another game to be on the lookout to arrive in January for PS4 and Xbox 1 is Moons of Madness, a Lovecraft-inspired game. So, how about we play another Lovecraft game for free in January such as Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game?
