Rumor: GTA 6 Announcement is Years Away

The GTA 6 rumor mill has been in overdrive lately. A lot of gamers have been wondering if an announcement for the next GTA game could be just around the corner. Indeed, some expected it to happen at Gamescom. While many games were revealed at Gamescom, GTA 6 was not among them. And according to one leaker, we should not expect one to happen anytime soon. The GTA 6 announcement may be years away.

According to Leaker, a GTA 6 Announcement is Years Away

The rumor about GTA 6 being years out comes from popular leaker Tom Henderson, who made the following tweet:

The text says, “How do creators and websites milk GTA 6 “leaks”? The truth is… We’re still a couple of years away from an announcement. I can’t see the announcement coming until fiscal 2023 at the earliest.”

Henderson’s leaks largely concern Call of Duty games, but he does have a reputation for accuracy. So, it is reasonable to take what he says seriously, even though he may not know for sure himself.

Either way, if you are curious what some of the recent GTA 6 rumors have concerned, one of the biggest is that the game could be a timed exclusive for PS5. There is also a rumor that the game will support VR. You can find out about these rumors and others in more detail in our Grand Theft Auto news section. There, we also keep you on top of what is going on in GTA Online.

Indeed, the massive success of GTA Online probably is part of the reason it is taking so long for GTA 6 to show up. We hope that Henderson is incorrect and that we find out more about GTA 6 sooner rather than later. But in the meantime, at least GTA Online gives us plenty to do!
