After the introduction of the Man in the Golden Mask and the Commander of the Organization, Hideo Kojima continues dropping hints about the Death Stranding cast.
This time he reveals that Guillermo Del Toro will be a character in his upcoming game. However, he won’t be in it like the rest of the cast.
According to Hideo Kojima, through his Twitter, Guillermo Del Toro will be making an appearance in Death Stranding. His presence though will be a product of cgi due to his demanding filmaking career. Here’s what Kojima-san said:
Here’s the character of Guillermo del Toro who was kind enought to make a special appearance in DEATH STRANDING. Because I respectfully wanted him to prioritize his filmmaking, we have scanned his face and body into 3D and let other actors do his performance and voice.
We can expect Guillermo Del Toro to be in at least one scene in Kojima Productions’ title. The only time we’ve seen him is during the second Death Stranding trailer, when he comes across Mads Mikkelsen in what looks like a broken version of the World War 2.
The fact alone that we see Del Toro in Kojima’s game is epic, since this will be the first time for a filmaker of his caliber to be involved in a video game.
This brings the already announced cast to seven. This includes Norman Reedus, Lindsay Wagner, Mads Mikklsen, Guillermo Del Toro, Lea Seydoux, Tommie Earl Jenkins and Troy Baker.
Hideo Kojima has revealed that are a few more characters to be revealed so stay tuned for this one.
As for the Death Stranding release date, we’ll have to wait a bit more. The window Kojima has provided at a previous date still exists. Anything can change though if the developing team finds something cool they want to add until then.
