With Tides of War Chapter 1: Overture now officially underway, DICE has a variety of new items and rewards available for players to claim. There are twenty new Chapter Rewards for players to unlock during Overture, for example, as well as four special Event Rewards. One item, however, is only available to certain players; DICE’s latest upcoming Battlefield 5 Subscriber Reward.
How to Get Your Hands on the Silver M1911 Battlefield 5 Subscriber Reward
The special Battlefield 5 Subscriber Reward is only available to those players with subscriptions to either EA Access, or Origin Access (both Basic and Premier). If you are such a player, you can get your hands on the new Silver-Plated M1911 Sidearm; a rather glorious looking weapon, though it is just a skin. Functionally, the weapon works the same as any other M1911. To get the weapon, you simply need to play Battlefield 5 as a subscriber to one of the aforementioned services between the 10th and 17th of December. If you do, the weapon will appear in your Shipments menu.
In-game, this weapon is named the “M1911 Silver Plated,” and is an Epic rarity sidearm. As a sidearm, it can be used by any Soldier class; rather than being restricted to just one, as would be the case for a primary weapon. It’s unknown whether the weapon might become available through other means at a later date, but for now at least it looks as though it will be a one-off gift for subscribers.
If you’re not a subscriber to any of EA’s subscription services, there is unfortunately no way to get the M1911 Silver Plated at present. (Although there is still time to sign up if you really want to get it). Otherwise, you’ll have to be contend with the plethora of other new rewards available in Overture. There are four entirely new weapons available if you participate in the weekly Chapter Events. The current event, Attrition and Fortifications, offers the VGO Medium Machine Gun for anyone who completes its challenges.
