How to Best Play the Assault Class in Battlefield 5

If one class can be said to be the mainstay of Battlefield 5, it is undoubtedly the Assault class. An adaptable frontline fighter, the Battlefield 5 Assault class is typically the one leading the charge. While other classes like Medic, Recon, and Support all have concerns aside from purely fighting, Assault soldiers’ primary concern is getting into the thick of the battle and excelling there. The Assault class is a valuable part of any squad.

How You Can Best Play the Battlefield 5 Assault Class

While the Support class leans towards large automatic weapons for suppressing fire, and the Recon uses long-range rifles, the Assault’s weapon categories are much more balanced. Assault soldiers choose their primary weapon from one of two categories; Assault Rifles and Semi-Automatic Rifles. These medium-range weapons generally come with a good balance of power, accuracy, and reload speed. As an Assault, you’ll also have access to both Sticky Dynamite and the Rifle Grenade Launcher in your Gadget options. Of course, you lack the resource gear of other classes, so be sure to stick close to your Medic and Support allies for extra health and ammo.

Battlefield 5 Assault Soldiers are the Frontline Fighters

When it comes to Combat Roles, the default role for the Battlefield 5 Assault class is Light Infantry. This fairly simple starting role gives you two abilities which provide nice benefits for playing in the thick of the fighting. Firsly, Scavenger allows you to gain more ammunition when you pick up ammo from dead bodies. The second ability, Battle Hardened, allows you to regenerate more health than other classes. If you want to play a standard Assault soldier, Light Infantry is a great way to start.

The second Combat Role emphasises another area where Assault soldiers tend to excel; destroying enemy vehicles. Vehicles in Battlefield 5 can be difficult to take down when you’re on foot, but the Assault class comes with a range of anti-tank explosives which can make short work of a vehicle which lets you get too close. The Tank Buster combat role gives you Tank Painter, which causes any vehicle you damage to become automatically spotted; useful for warning the rest of your squad of the location of an enemy vehicle. It also gives you Tank Scrapper, which grants you extra Requisition Points when you destroy a tank. If you often find yourself tank-hunting as an Assault in Battlefield 5; consider switching to Tank Hunter when you unlock it.
