Infinity Ward’s Response to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta Feedback

The first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta weekend has now been going for three days. Today, the Beta became an Open Beta, letting many additional PS4 owners get into the event. As a result, there is already a huge amount of Modern Warfare Beta feedback online. Fortunately, it seems that Infinity Ward is paying close attention to what fans think about things so far. In a recent Reddit update, the studio announced new maps and playlists, and also addressed several areas of feedback.

Modern Warfare Beta Feedback Which the Studio is Addressing

One area of concern which many players have noted since the Beta began is the game’s minimap. Fortunately, it seems that Infinity Ward is well aware that people aren’t exactly happy. “We hear you loud and clear,” they write on Reddit; “Along with your feedback and the data we’re continuously collecting, we’ll be experimenting internally with a few different options and will keep you updated if we make any changes that you might see during the Beta”. This experimentation has already begun, in fact; the studio changed the minimap today to no longer show enemy fire.

The studio is also looking into several possible bugs. Some of these may get temporary fixes, while others will apparently get fixes for the second Beta weekend. A graphical bug which causes corruption on the matchmaking screen, for example, falls into the latter category. The studio hopes to release a temporary fix for a bug which can cause players to become unable to leave the matchmaking screen. However, there’s no confirmation yet as to when this might arrive. They also ask that players be more specific about their personal audio setups when describing audio issues; for example, whether the player is using headphones, speakers, etc. “This information can help us narrow down what you’re hearing and help us look further into any issues,” they explain.

When it comes to in-game Modern Warfare Beta feedback, Infinity Ward notes five key areas which they are currently investigating. The first is an issue making it hard to control Cruise Missiles, which is; “currently being looked into”. The studio is similarly looking into a bug causing character models to clip through vehicles during infil and when using Deployable Cover. Players have also been sharing video of inconsistent spawning, which the studio will be monitoring. The last two bugs have confirmed fixes; a smoke effect not correctly displaying after firing weapons will be fixed by launch. Meanwhile, a bug causing Semtex grenades not to detonate when stuck to doors will be fixed for the second Beta weekend.
