This coming season could be an exciting one for the Arizona Cardinals. They drafted Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray at No. 1 in the NFL Draft and are hoping he’ll lead them to more wins than last season. They’ve also brought a brand new head coach on board with Kliff Kingsbury. The 39-year-old was the coach for Texas Tech over the past six years. That means both Murray and Kingsbury are in the new Madden 20 game, but the coach wants an adjustment.
Kliff Kingsbury comments on Madden 20 looks
In the Madden 20 titles, gamers don’t do much with the coaches on the sidelines as they’re mostly part of the animations after scoring, bad plays, wins or losses. They’re more of a visual component of the game, although coaches are usable with Ultimate Team to help boost players and overall team abilities.
Kliff Kingsbury officially made his debut among the Madden 20 coaches ahead of the 2019 NFL season. Unfortunately, the new Cardinals coach doesn’t feel they got his coach likeness right. Here’s him replying to a reporter’s question regarding EA’s game and how they did his look.
Speaking to the media Kingsbury said he understands why some guys flip out over their Madden player ratings. The head coach commented, “…someone sent me a picture of what I look like on there, so I want to get adjusted on ‘looks’ rating. I look like I’m on ‘The Walking Dead’ in that picture.”
Here’s a look at the included screenshot showing Kingsbury in Madden 20.

Kingsbury also added, “So yeah, I apologize for any of those players that I thought, ‘Hey it’s just a video game, why are you upset?’ Because I saw my picture on there, and I’m not pleased with where we’re at. We have to work on that.”
Here’s another screenshot of Kliff Kingsbury which doesn’t look terrible. However, we’re all our own worst critics and seeing yourself for the first time in video game form could be hard to handle. Some just enjoy the journey of being “in the game” and evolving as a character.
The good news is that sports sim developers do their best to improve player likenesses, so possibly they’ll give the virtual Kliff Kingsbury a Madden 20 makeover. Until then, he’ll have to remain a fan of being a Walking Dead extra on PS4, Xbox One, and PCs.
The new Madden 20 NFL game is officially out for customers who pre-ordered the Superstar and Ultimate Superstar editions of the game. Everyone else will be able to get a closer look at zombie coach Kliff Kingsbury on August 2.
