Lauren Hissrich Tweets Major Update About Season Arcs for The Witcher Netflix Series

Since the announcement of the Witcher Netflix series, showrunner Lauren Hissrich has been posting regular updates on Twitter. Usually, fans are left in the dark during these early pre-production stages, but Hissrich has bucked the trend; she has been very active on Twitter, keeping fans informed and addressing their concerns. Most recently, she posted a huge update on how the writers are approaching season arcs after ten weeks in the writers’ room.

The Witcher Netflix Series Will be Based on the Original Novels

Season Arcs in the Witcher Netflix Series

Hissrich began her post by noting that it had been ten weeks since she announced the opening of the show’s writers’ room. According to the showrunner, the writing team are already plotting out the end of the first season.

Following her initial tweet, Hissrich then wrote a thread detailing how the team approaches writing a season arc. The Witcher Netflix series is based on the original novels by Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski. Making that clear to fans has certainly been important; many are clearly more familiar with the CD Projekt Red games. However, Hissrich has conducted herself admirably against a veritable horde of fans who have criticized her for things as absurd as being a woman. (It’s almost like those “fans” have an ulterior motive behind concern for the series.) Fortunately, Hissrich clearly has a good sense of what the actual fans want to hear, and has so far delivered on most things.

Hissrich’s most recent Twitter thread addresses all manner of things related to the writing; the first season arc, the source material, and ideas for how the season might end. The showrunner recently announced that they were beginning auditions for casting, though it could be sometime before more information is announced. Fans have already suggested dozens (or more) of names for who would be their favorite picks. For now, however, fans will have to wait and see what happens.
