Madden 19 Reveals Six More Ultimate Team MVPs Including Tyrann Mathieu, Bradley McDougald

Just days ago, Madden 19 Ultimate Team teased gamers with a brand new MVP player card. That particular card was for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Now, they’ve unveiled five more Ultimate Team MVPs to go along with Jackson. Among them are defensive standouts such as Melvin Ingram and Tyrann Mathieu. Defensive tackle Bradley McDougald is also raising eyebrows. Here are more details on the new player cards and this weekend’s Madden 19 promotion.

Madden 19 Ultimate Team MVPs: Ingram, Mathieu join the group

As mentioned, the Team MVP Lamar Jackson card was announced just days ago, and now we’ve got five more players to go with him. Each of the new Most Valuable Players brings a 97 OVR to the mix for gamers to add to their respective rosters.  Melvin Ingram and Tyrann Mathieu lead the way in terms of their names, and defensive abilities.

However, Chicago Bears fans will see that center Cody Whitehair is available with 98 Block Power and 98 Block Finesse. Other key attributes include his 97 Awareness and 97 Run Block Power. That will be a great addition to Bears’ Ultimate Team rosters. All six of the new player cards are on display below (via @mut_news1).

Also shown above are the Seattle Seahawks’ Bradley McDougald and Philadelphia Eagles’ Brandon Brooks. A number of gamers, who are building Seahawks teams, aren’t too happy with that McDougald inclusion. Some feel that maybe a Jarren Reed card would be a better one for the MUT MVPs.

The defensive tackle finished the season with 50 combined tackles including 10.5 sacks. He also had two fumble recoveries. The Pro Football Reference website gives Jarran Reed an approximate value of nine for his team this past season, while McDougald has a seven for his approximate value. Madden may have “dropped the ball” here, so to speak.

Madden 19 Weekend Promotion for XP, Scouts ending?

In addition to the brand new Team MVPs, this weekend will be a “Double XP Weekend.” That will help gamers earn double the Experience Points (XP) in any Ultimate Team modes they play. It’s a quicker way to level up your players to make your Madden Ultimate Team even tougher for opponents to take down.

Obviously, MUT players at 80s won’t benefit from this new promotion. Some gamers have already pointed out that this weekend event comes just ahead of a level cap adjustment. However, others point out that it will give gamers another chance to get to the maximum level before that cap level is raised.

It’s also worth noting that the Madden 19 Ultimate Team Scouts that were part of the NFL Scouting Combine promotion may soon be unusable. Scouts are earned through Solo Challenges. Gamers can use them for redeeming Team Builders or Team MVPs at the Madden Ultimate Team store.

Some people are already guessing at when Scouts will become unusable with “after the draft” a popular answer. Some even believe next Friday may be the final day, so stay tuned.
