Madden 21 Gameplay Update Adds New Abilities to Game Including Deflator, Run Committed
The latest Madden 21 gameplay update included a ton of fixes for various issues in the overall game. However, it also brought several brand new Abilities into the mix for gamers to use with specific players. Those provided fixes, tuning, or modifications for the ball carrier, defensive coverage, catching, tackling, and general aspects of the gameplay.
What Abilities did Madden 21 gameplay update add?
We mentioned a small bit about the overall details for Madden 21 title update 4 a few days ago. On Tuesday, EA released the full title update and their latest Gridiron Notes to describe all of the things it included. Those notes (see them here) touched upon the addition of several new Abilities in the Madden 21 gameplay update:
- (NEW) Run Committed – Defenders with this ability will dominantly win run blocks when they correctly use the Guess Play adjustment to predict a run. Incorrect guesses will result in a loss.
- (NEW) Pass Committed – Defenders with this ability will win pass blocks when they correctly use the Guess Play adjustment to predict a pass. Incorrect guesses will result in a loss.
- (NEW) Deflator – Defenders with this ability will cause increased fatigue penalties when tackling a Ball Carrier with a non-conservative tackle.
Basically, the first two new Abilities will allow a defender with that ability to shed a run or pass block, if you are able to correctly guess a play. Guessing wrong is going to result in a loss, though. Deflator gives defensive players another potential fatigue penalty to unleash on ball carriers.
The new update also adjusted an issue on another ability called Enforcer:
Enforcer – Addressed an issue causing CPU-controlled defenders with the Enforcer ability to use hit-stick tackles too frequently, and as a result also cause more fumbles than intended.
Gamers can unlock and add abilities to their player cards in Madden 21 Ultimate Team by spending Madden Training points. Only certain players may have the new Abilities available, though.
