New Madden 21 Legends Group 5 Features Lawrence Taylor in Ultimate Team Return

LT is back once again to provide Madden gamers with some bone-crushing defense on the virtual gridiron. As of Saturday, EA brought out the new Madden 21 Legends Group 5 with Lawrence Taylor as its headline player. He’s joined by legendary wide receiver Reggie Wayne from the Indianapolis Colts. Here’s the latest on their attributes, costs, and new challenges.

Lawrence Taylor headlines Madden 21 Legends Group 5

Just two players arrive for Madden 21 Legends Group 5 on Saturday, September 19 with Lawrence Taylor the main star many gamers will be looking to acquire. He’s typically a game-changer in Madden Ultimate Team thanks to his defensive greatness.

Key attributes for LT on his first big card in Ultimate Team this season include 87 Speed with 90 Acceleration, 89 Power Moves, 87 Finesse Moves, and 86 Strength.

He’s joined by Reggie Wayne, former wide receiver with Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Wayne was one of Peyton’s favorite targets in Indy for many years, and racked up over 14,000 yards and 82 touchdowns during his 14-season career.

Wayne’s 90 OVR card includes 89 Speed, 89 Catching, 89 Medium Route, 88 Short Route, 87 Deep Route, and 87 Spectacular Catch.

Each new Madden 21 Legends player has a 90 OVR Boss card and 91 OVR Limited card available. Boss cards can be acquired by exchange set (see below), while LTDs are available in packs until September 21 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.

New challenges, card costs

To get the Madden 21 Legends Group 5 Boss cards shown up above, gamers need to put together a set of five of their non-Boss cards. Those are cards with ratings of 82 through 88 OVR. The non-Boss cards are available through packs and the Madden Auction House.

Each player has a new Legends Challenge in Ultimate Team. Gamers can play this on a star level from one to three for difficulty. In addition, each challenge has an in-game goal of certain stats to achieve. The main goal is to win the game, though, as you’ll get the player’s new Madden 21 Legends Power Up card and Madden Coins. Gamers can use Madden Training with Power Ups, as well as other cards to boost the Legends to higher ratings.

In addition to those Challenges, there is also a separate challenge against the Ultimate Team. Gamers can take them on and if they win, they’ll earn another Legends Token. The token goes into an exchange set for a bit later down the road to get a NAT Boss Legends player. This particular challenge will expire on September 26 at 10:15 a.m. Eastern Time.

All of the above cards are available for bidding or Buy Now prices at the Auction House too, even the Boss Cards. Currently, Lawrence Taylor’s Boss and LTD cards are going for one million Coins or more, as one would expect. Reggie Wayne’s Boss card is around 650,000 Coins on the PS4, with his 91 OVR LTD over a million Coins.
