Madden 21 Ultimate Legends 15 Includes Sean Taylor, LTD Tony Romo

The Madden 21 Ultimate Legends Release 15 is here and brings a trio of stars to the virtual gridiron for the Ultimate Team mode. Among them, fans can now pick up a high-rated limited-availability card for former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

There’s also the late, great free safety Sean Taylor and Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez with brand new items. Here’s all the latest about their new cards and what’s available for in-game content.

Madden 21 Ultimate Legends 15 features Gonzalez, Taylor

On Friday evening, @EASPORTS_MUT presented the upcoming Madden 21 Ultimate Legends group. On Saturday, those items became available in MUT mode on the game. The latest Ultimate Legends release features a 10-time All-Pro Hall of Famer in Tony Gonzalez, who now has a new 99 OVR item to pick up.

Gonzalez, the all-time receiving yards leader among NFL tight ends, gets 99 Catching, 99 Catch in Traffic, 98 Awareness, and 98 Jumping. There’s also a 99 Short Route Running, but his 92 Speed rating may leave fans searching for a different player for TE on their roster.

Joining the HOFer is Sean Taylor, a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro defensive star from the Washington Football Team’s franchise. In Madden, he’s a Zone Free Safety who brings 99 Power Moves, 98 Pursuit, 97 Zone Coverage, 97 Speed, and 95 Tackling. This seems to be among the better cards now available for the position, especially for Washington theme-teasers.

Last but not least is four-time Pro Bowler and current CBS NFL analyst Tony Romo. The former Cowboys quarterback is this weekend’s LTD release and an Improviser archetype. His new high-powered card features 99 Deep Accuracy, 98 Short Accuracy, 97 Throw Under Pressure, and 97 Throw Power attributes.

How to get the new MUT UL cards

In order to acquire the above player items from Madden 21 Ultimate Legends 15 group, gamers have various options. One way is to put together exchange sets to get those 99 OVR items, with the exception of Tony Romo.

As the LTD Ultimate Legends release, he’s available randomly in select packs for 48 hours. Alternately, gamers can buy his card at the Auction House for 300,000 Madden Coins or more.

In order to get 99 OVR Career Edition Ultimate Legend Tony Gonzalez, gamers need a set of nine cards. Those are four of Gonzalez’s 89 OVR cards, four of his 93 OVR cards, and one of his 97 OVR cards from this release. The same is true for Sean Taylor, as those will be the ratings of his cards needed to get his 99 OVR Career Edition card.

There are also repeatable exchange sets to get Random Skill Edition Ultimate Legend cards. These will require two 87-88 OVR Legends, five 85-86 OVR Legends, and seven 83-84 OVR Legends cards to unlock for Gonzalez or Taylor.

Taylor and Gonazlez challenges, card prices

In terms of auction prices for their new cards, MUTHEAD’s listing shows nearly 500,000 Coins for Gonzalez on Xbox and about 400,000 Coins on PlayStation. Taylor’s card seems to be fetching a much higher value, as expected. It’s currently going for over 700,000 Coins on PS4, and closer to 800,000 Coins on Xbox.

Gonzalez and Taylor also have new Ultimate Legends Challenges to play. These are where gamers use their Ultimate Team against the Legends’ team in a full game. They’re worth as much as five stars and 2,900 Coins each, along with the player’s Power Up item.

There’s also an Ultimate Legends Token challenge, worth 700 Coins, four stars, and a token towards an exchange set. Once enough tokens are in that set, gamers receive a MUT Ultimate Legends player item.
