Madden 22 Cornerback Ratings Finally Add Jalen Ramsey to Game’s 99 Club

A fourth member of the 99 Club has arrived for EA’s Madden 22, getting his deserved spot. The Madden 22 cornerback ratings were the latest release ahead of the video game, showing Jalen Ramsey is among the NFL’s elite. He reacted to the honor, suggesting it should’ve happened earlier. Meanwhile, a former 99 Club member has fallen from the top spot.

Jalen Ramsey tops Madden 22 cornerback ratings

Over the past few days, ESPN and EA have revealed player ratings during the Madden 22 Ratings Reveal Week. That has included rookies and veterans in the NFL.

The past three days had the best wide receiver, defensive lineman, and tight end in the spotlight as featured 99 Club members. Thursday’s Madden 22 cornerback ratings added the best corner in the game, Jalen Ramsey.

He’ll enter Madden 22 with a position-best 99 overall rating. Other key attributes for the Rams corner are his 99 Awareness, 94 Acceleration, 92 Speed, and 91 Agility.

Ramsey is also rated at 94 Jumping, 92 Change of Direction, and 91 Stamina. He leads all cornerbacks when it comes to man coverage, though, with a 99 rating there.

Jalen spent the first three seasons of his career with Jacksonville but ultimately ended up with the Rams during the 2019 NFL season. He now helps their defense try to dominate, with fellow 99 Club member Aaron Donald. Jalen’s teammate received his honor on Tuesday, with him getting his fifth-straight appearance in the club.

For his career, he’s achieved 11 interceptions for 114 yards and a touchdown. Ramsey also has 287 combined and 249 solo tackles.

Ramey joins his teammate, as well as Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and Packers wide receiver Davante Adams as 99-rated players in Madden 22, so far.

Top 10 cornerbacks include former 99 Club member

Along with Jalen’s 99 arrived a top 10 list of Madden 22 cornerback ratings on Thursday. While Jalen was at the absolute top of the list, former 99 Club member Stephon Gilmore of the Patriots is now second. The New England CB was part of the club last year but will need to do a bit of work this season to get back.

Gilmore’s within two points of getting back at a 97 overall rating. Just below him is the Green Bay Packers Jaire Alexander, at 95 OVR. Rounding out the top five are Tre’Davious White (93 OVR) and Marlon Humphrey (92 OVR).

A more complete list of their ratings is available through Madden’s database here.

While the player ratings are based on Madden Ratings Adjustors’ analysis of the NFL stars’ abilities ahead of the season, they’ll likely change once the NFL is back in session. A few standout performances by Gilmore could easily get him that two-point boost he needs to join Ramsey.

At the same time, factors could influence Ramsey dropping out of the club, so he’ll need to continue to display his immense talent on the field.

Ramsey reacts to honor of 99 Club membership

It’s been a while, but Jalen seemed excited to join the club. In a video clip, Jalen’s business manager had a huge box delivered to Jalen’s home. It featured a special gold “99” chain that has been gifted to other members. In addition, there was a solid trophy and a handwritten note signed by John Madden.

“Y’all been playing me for a couple years. I’ve been waiting on this one,” Ramsey said after opening the surprise package.

“I’m a part of the 99 Club. It’s official. It’s been a little overdue. Y’all did the right thing,” Ramsey said.

“Being in the 99 Club means a lot, because I’ve been playing Madden since I was a little kid…All I know, is that if I’m a 99, Aaron Donald better be a 105. We goin’ for the cover next. Me and AD side-by-side,” Ramsey said in the clip.

Ramsey may be onto something there, as it seems it’s been a while since a defensive star made the front cover of EA’s game. For now, the two dominant defensive players will surely enjoy their Madden 22 gifts and continue wreaking havoc on opponents.

Madden 22 officially arrives on August 20, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PCs, and Google Stadia.
