NBA Live 19 All-Star Event Pays Homage To 2001 Stars Including Allen Iverson, Vince Carter
With the 2019 NBA All-Star Game right around the corner, the NBA Live video game is offering events based on that theme. The latest of these events is a throwback to the 2001 All-Star Game and brings some of the fan favorites from that year’s game into the virtual basketball world. Among them are former Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson and longtime NBA star Vince Carter.
NBA Live 19 All-Star Event details
The new NBA Live 19 All-Star event became available in the EA game as of Tuesday (Feb. 5). It doesn’t feature the latest NBA All-Stars such as cover athlete Joel Embiid or Giannis Antetokounmpo. Instead, it features a new challenge in which you’ll go up against a team of 2001 NBA All-Stars. They include Eastern Conference stars Allen Iverson (Sixers), Vince Carter (Raptors), Grant Hill (Magic), Tracy McGrady (Magic), and Alonzo Mourning (Heat). A screenshot below shows them off in their casual NBA gear.
Gamers can participate in this using teammates or friends. In addition, the NBA Live 19 All-Star event is available for a solo challenge. Gamers will have two days to take on the team shown above. Defeating them results in earning in-game gear or certain Court Battles Players.
Possible gear rewards might include throwback jerseys for Carter, Iverson, Hill, McGrady, and Mourning. For example, that iconic pinstripe Hornets jersey that Mourning wore is one of the possible items. So is Vince Carter’s classic 2000 Raptors jersey. A screenshot below shows off some of those jersey rewards.
This latest event follows another All-Stars event that was in NBA Live 19 this past weekend. On Sunday, they had a two-day event featuring the 2012 East All-Stars. Among the featured players were Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade. D-Wade will be a part of this year’s game in Charlotte. The big game arrives on Sunday, February 17, 2019.
Meanwhile, fans can take on the various challenges in the NBA Live 19 difficulty and mode of their choice. If not, there’s always the ability to create your own teams of stars to test against one another in the game. The NBA Live 19 game is currently available for Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One game consoles.
